This website shows the wide range of valuable services provided and enabled by Motueka Community House for the community. Many of the tangible services are delivered by volunteers and we are thrilled with their regular contributions. But all this relies on a small, well-trained management team and office, as well as upkeep of the building itself as a special welcoming space.

While local businesses and partner organisations help out with paying for our larger events and provisions, funding to employ staff and maintain the building is a constant focus of the Trust. Without it our services simply could not be effectively provided.  Only a few of the Aotearoa’s larger funding agencies give grants to help cover operational costs, and applying for these each year takes considerable management time – with outcomes not guaranteed.

Around two-thirds of our costs are for operational overheads – staff salaries, office needs and building maintenance, insurance, lease payments etc. And it’s here that we need special help.

We don’t want to spend staff time just running fundraising events. To enable us to cover operating and service-provision costs, we invite occasional or regular donations from local people and businesses who can afford it and who understand the need and value of our work. We plan to provide a facility on this page to enable a donation to be made (one-off or regular) online, but for now we invite you to make a donation via bank payment.
  • Our NBS bank account number is 03-1354-0540359-000.
  • The account name is Motueka Community House Board of Trustees. (If you enter just Motueka Community House your bank matching check will show it as a “partial match”.)
  • Please include in the Details that this is a Donation and any other information such (a) as your name or “Anonymous” if you so choose, (b) if you want the donation to be to a targeted event or to general service provision.

Or simply get in touch with us to talk through how you could best help us. Thank you!
Why we need your support – How others see us

“As a tenant whose office is located within Community House, I see the direct, daily impact of this facility. Funding for wages is critical to maintaining a consistent staff presence at reception. The reception team serves as a welcoming first point of contact for vulnerable individuals seeking support, while also ensuring a safe, secure environment for the public and the various agencies operating here. Additionally, contribution toward operating costs is vital to securing the ongoing viability of this indispensable community hub.” – Yellow Brick Road

“Motueka Community House is an essential community hub. It provides accessible, affordable premises for local organisations to deliver services, while also offering practical support to people and whānau experiencing hardship, including access to food, clothing and connection with other services. From our experience, the Community House goes well beyond providing a building. Its team creates a welcoming, compassionate place where people can seek help with dignity and be connected to the right support at the right time. This is particularly important for those who may be isolated, facing financial stress, or navigating complex personal circumstances.” – Women’s Support Motueka

“The Community House sits at the centre of a network of community organisations in Motueka, and in my experience it is often the first door people knock on when they are not sure who else to ask. MFSC works alongside Motueka Community House as a partner and referral agency. We regularly refer whanau to the services housed there, and Motueka Community House has in turn referred people to us.” – Motueka Family Service Centre
