Our tenants

Motueka Community House is home to about a dozen local agencies, who rent rooms depending on the frequency of times they are open and size they require. Some smaller agencies share rooms on a roster system.

Women’s Support Motueka

We support women dealing with family violence including physical, psychological, and sexual abuse, relationship issues, health matters, addiction, depression, anxiety, grief, isolation, child-related issues and other life challenges. Also known as Motueka Women’s Support Link, we offer support, counselling, advocacy, crisis response and community engagement.

We support women to achieve tino rangatiratanga (self-determination). We respect you in your uniqueness. We celebrate women of all ethnicities, incomes, cultures, sexual orientations, gender identities, ages and abilities.  Learn more >

Red Cross op shop
Motueka Red Cross operates a popular second-hand shop within the Community House, but with a separate side entrance down the western side of the main house. It is open Mondays through to Saturdays, 10am to 2pm. We have a wide range of pre-loved items including shoes, homewares, books, toys etc at affordable prices. We are happy to receive donated items in good condition. Check out more on our Facebook page, where you may also find special bargain (like half-price) days.
Yellow Brick Road

Supporting families towards mental wellbeing. Formerly known as Supporting Families NZ, Yellow Brick Road is a national organisation that provides support for whānau who have a loved one experiencing mental health challenges. We have offices in Nelson, and a room at Motueka Community House for visiting counsellors.

After 40 years of experience working with people around New Zealand, we see that if the family of a loved one experiencing mental distress are correctly supported and empowered, the path they walk leads to increased wellbeing for the whole whānau. Email jeanette@yellowbrickroad.org.nz

St Vincent de Paul

We provide food vouchers to people in need. We’re open Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1.30pm – 2.30pm by appointment only. Please phone (03)528 0404.

Nelson Bays Community Law

Legal problems can be serious and frightening, and for many people lawyers are completely unaffordable. But everyone has the right to high-quality legal help – that’s where Community law comes in. Often the first and most important step is to ask for help. We are open on Wednesdays at the Community House from 8:30 am to 4:00pm. Phone 0800 246 146 for appointments or free advice, Mondays to Fridays.

Alcohol and Other Drug Clinician

This is a brief intervention service for adults 25-plus. Are you searching for help with your drinking or smoking of cannabis? Do you want some practical strategies to cut down or stop drinking or smoking cannabis? Sabien offers a non-judgmental service to guide you to reach your goals. Four confidential sessions. Thursdays 8:30am to 12:00 noon. Phone 027 205 9497.

Beneficiaries and Unwaged Workers Trust (BUWT)

Have you a problem with WINZ, ACC or IRD? BUWT may be able to help. We are a non-government community organisation that provides information, advice and support for people on low incomes. Email buwtcs@xtra.co.nz

Multicultural Motueka

Have you migrated to Motueka from overseas? Multiculture Motueka provides practical support as well as connection for new migrants and refugees. We celebrate cultural diversity and organise events to highlight the richness different cultures contribute to our community. We are open Fridays 8:30am – 2:00pm. Te Tai o Awatea

A kaupapa Māori charity in Te Tai o Aorere Tasman. We remove barriers to provide culturally safe programmes and experiences that enable whanau to experience mauri ora through connection with taonga tuku iho (treasures handed down). Programmes include Waka Korero, Mau Rakau, Toi Māori, Sailing Waka, Whānau Reo and many more. We also provide professional and community cultural experiences and education. Motueka Arts Council

The Motueka Arts Council is a not for profit organisation dedicated to promoting and encouraging the arts in and around the Motueka region. We are open Wednesdays 10.30am – 3.30pm.

We work to advance the knowledge in and appreciation of the arts through community based educational activities such as workshops and symposium. We are inclusive and recognise creativity in a wide variety of subjects. It is our aim to foster interest and participation in the arts.   Learn more >

Fresh FM

Fresh FM is a not-for-profit charitable trust and community access radio station, funded through NZ On Air, grants, sponsorship, and donations. One of our three studios is in Motueka Community House.

Our role is to support access, connection, and participation. We provide the studios, training, broadcast platforms, podcasting, and encouragement that help people be heard, especially voices that are not always represented in mainstream media. Through our FM frequencies and online platforms, Fresh FM shares local stories, music, cultures, ideas, concerns, and lived experiences with listeners here at home and around the world.   Learn more >
